In the Basic Multidisciplinary Studies in Sustainability Transitions - module, coordinated by the resource wisdom community JYU.Wisdom, students will learn about the need for, obstacles to, and opportunities presented by sustainability transitions from a multidisciplinary perspective. Sustainability transitions are examined from the perspectives of technological solutions, social governance systems, cultures, and behavior, among others.

“A particular focus is on increasing students' interdisciplinary understanding of the challenges and solutions of sustainability transitions,” says Mikael Puurtinen, JYU.Wisdom's Director of Education. “In the courses, sustainability transitions are defined as complex processes that require multi-level approaches combining expertise from different scientific fields in order to be understood and managed.”
