New system for registering for studies – Activate Sisu now!

Sisu is the new study information system of JYU. When registering for studies, you must use Sisu instead of Korppi. Get familiar with Sisu and activate your study plan template during summer so that you are ready to register for studies in autumn.

Students use Sisu for study planning and monitoring as well as for registering for studies. At first, you must create a study plan template in Sisu. All who have started their studies in autumn 2017 or thereafter can create the study plan already now in Sisu. Those who have started their studies earlier can create the plan during the summer 2019. Your study plan template must be activated in Sisu before you can register for studies. However, the template does not need to have content yet.

Do as follows:

  • Log in to Sisu with your JYU username and password.
  • Create a study plan template.
  • Browse study offering (see instructions).
  • You can plan and schedule studies for the academic year 2019–2020.
  • Registration for studies in Sisu is possible from 1 August. Please note that the start time of registration varies for different studies.

Sisu will gradually replace Korppi by autumn 2020. Only Open University students will register for courses in Korppi.

Sisu is a joint project of universities and will also be introduced in Aalto University, the University of Helsinki, the Lappeenranta University of Technology and the University of Tampere.

The University of Jyväskylä has actively participated in the design of the Sisu system and we are the first university to deploy Sisu extensively. Benefits of a common system include national compatibility, interoperability and possibility for cross-institutional studies.

The deployment of Sisu at JYU started in autumn 2018 when new students made their study plans in Sisu.

The usability of Sisu is tested with students and staff of different Universities in different phases of development.
