Over hundred physicists, from students to emeritus professors, will meet in PLATAN in Jyväskylä 9-14 June 2024. Special attention has been paid to students and early-career researchers, including tutorial sessions on Sunday 9th June.

The conference programme covers a broad range of topics such as tests of fundamental interactions and symmetries using lasers and traps, structural properties of elementary particles, nuclei and atoms studied with laser and storage techniques, precision laser spectroscopy, and high-precision mass spectrometry. Altogether 14 invited speakers have been selected by the International Advisory Committee. In addition, the programme includes 46 oral and more than 40 poster presentations. The conference is very international, with most participants coming from abroad.

PLATAN 2024 is the second PLATAN conference, following the first event organised in Mainz. The research utilizing traps and lasers at the IGISOL facility, located in the Accelerator Laboratory of the University of Jyväskylä, is among the top players in the field and internationally well recognised. The participants have a chance to visit the unique facilities in the Accelerator Laboratory during the conference and learn more about the research conducted in Jyväskylä.
