The Campus Development Group had its first meeting

The Campus Development Group, appointed by Rector Keijo Hämäläinen, had its first meeting on 15 June 2022.

The chair of the development group is Henrik Kunttu, vice rector responsible for research, and the purpose of the group is to support the development of the University’s campuses and the entity of facilities from the perspectives of studying, research, teaching and working as well as sustainability. In the first meeting, the development group got familiar with the work of the previous campus development group and discussed about the starting point of development work.

One central goal of the Campus Development Group is to create a facility strategy for the University, and the group is also responsible for steering the facility strategy work. In its meeting of 10 December 2021, the University Board added the creating of a facility strategy to the budget outlines of 2022.

"The preparation of the facility strategy of the University of Jyväskylä is meant to start in autumn 2022 and the purpose is to get the strategy ready by the end of 2023," says Henrik Kunttu, the chair of the Campus Development Group. "The campus is a large entity of teaching, research, working and other operations, and our aim is to make the strategy to cover all these areas comprehensively."

The Campus Development Group has been appointed for the term of office 16 May 2022–31 December 2024.
