The submission process for bachelor’s theses will be renewed in February–March of 2026
The submission process for bachelor’s theses is being renewed. Soon, all bachelor’s theses completed at the University of Jyväskylä will be submitted through the new submission process built into the Vasara system. In the bachelor's thesis submission process, the student submits the thesis, the supervisor evaluates the work, and the grade for the course is recorded in the student’s study register in Sisu. At the end of the submission process, the thesis is automatically transferred to the JYX Publication Archive for long-term preservation without any additional work required from supervisors or students.
The service will be introduced gradually across units starting at the end of February. The process will first be deployed in the Faculty of Information Technology, the Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics, and the Department of Psychology. The use of the submission process will expand to all units by the end of March.
The Vasara process has been designed and implemented by the Open Science Centre.
The Degree Education Services team (TOP team) provides guidance and support to both staff and students regarding questions related to the submission process in Vasara.
Unit-specific information sessions were organised during weeks 7 and 8, where the system was presented and staff questions were answered. The recordings of the information sessions are also available for later viewing.
New Vasara instructions related to the submission of bachelor's theses will be published in week 9.
