“From a human perspective, the situation is terrible,” says Marja-Leena Laakso, Vice Rector for education. “It is extremely serious when people trying to deliver aid to those in need are arrested and mistreated. As individuals and as a university, we are concerned for our student and others who have been detained and are suffering as a result of the situation. We have been in contact with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, who have informed us that they are working to resolve the situation.”
