The University of Jyväskylä moves to partial contact teaching and office work at the beginning of August
When studying and working on the campus, it is essential to take care of safety. This means, for example, limiting group sizes, using online and small group teaching and alternating between remote work and working on the campus.
In academic year 2020–2021, teaching will mainly be arranged as online and small group teaching, considering the requirements of each studied subject. The size of teaching groups may be at the most 50 persons. Sufficient physical distance and hygiene must be minded in contact teaching. Mass lectures and exams will be organised in smaller groups or implemented online. New students are prioritised when arranging teaching on the campus.
The orientation period for new students will start on 24 August and it will be organised in small groups on the campus. Instead of one physical space, large events will be held online or in small groups.
Ensuring a safe environment for study and work will be considered in all activities, and related instructions will be provided by 16 June. The instructions will take into account authority instructions and recommendations. When necessary, the instructions for the autumn term will be specified at the beginning of August, considering the development of the epidemic during the summer.
Earlier instructions will be valid until 31 June.
