The University Printing house will close down in spring 2026
The printing house employs six people. The use of printing services at the university has decreased over the past 10 years, and the current operating model is not financially sustainable, taking into account the changed need for printing services. In the negotiations, different options for organising services were carefully considered, and outsourcing the service was assessed as a more financially sustainable option. The elected officials who represented the personnel in the negotiations gave a different view.
The employer provides the personnel with support measures related to the change negotiations and enables separate services designed for occupational health change situations.
The services of the printing house will be phased out as the university's own work and they will be available to the university community during the transition period of the spring semester of 2026.
The university will put the printing service out to tender in autumn 2025, with the aim of gradually starting the new operator in spring 2026.The community will be informed of the progress of the tendering process and the new ordering model for printing services once the new operator has been selected.
