The University Printing house will close down in spring 2026

University Services has completed the change negotiations concerning the operations of the University Printing House. The University Press has operated as part of the services of the University of Jyväskylä. The printing house's operations will cease in spring 2026 and the employment relationships of the printing company's personnel will end.

The University Printing House employs 6 people. The use of printing services at the University has decreased over the past 10 years. In the negotiations, different options for organising services were carefully considered, and outsourcing the service was assessed as a more financially sustainable option.   

The services of the printing house will be phased out as the university's own work and they will be available to the university community during the transition period of the spring semester of 2026. The university will put the printing service out to tender in autumn 2025, with the aim of gradually starting the new operator in spring 2026.
