uMove Fun Run brings together Jyväskylä’s higher education institutions for a shared activity
On Friday, September 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., Jyväskylä’s higher education institutions will host a joint running event, uMove Fun Run, which will take place as part of the Finlandia Marathon on the Rantaraitti trail in Jyväskylä. The event is open to students and staff of the University of Jyväskylä and the Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences, for whom participation is free of charge.

uMove Fun Run is a low-threshold running event where participants can complete a 5‑kilometer course at their own pace—running, jogging, or walking. The event offers students and staff an opportunity to be active together and meet one another in a relaxed setting.
The event is organized in collaboration with the University of Jyväskylä, JAMK, the City of Jyväskylä, and uMove, the joint sports community of the higher education institutions. It reflects the growing partnership among the institutions and supports Jyväskylä’s goal of becoming Finland’s sports capital.
