OJUA2011 Bilingual CLIL Education

Bilingual CLIL Education addresses the development and purpose, practice and variety of bilingual education in Finnish education and further afield. As an advanced course, students are expected to combine their theoretical understanding with the development of pedagogical activities and materials.

This course is offered as separate studies by the Faculty. Note! Degree students of JYU cannot sing-up for separate studies. Please sign-up via Sisu instead.

Content:

Bilingual CLIL Education addresses the development and purpose, practice and variety of bilingual education in Finnish education and further afield. As an advanced course, students are expected to combine their theoretical understanding with the development of pedagogical activities and materials.

Outcomes:

Upon completing the course, students will be able to:
- comprehend different forms of bilingual education and related approaches

- acknowledge the opportunities and challenges of integrating language and content curricula in educational communities

- combine theoretical and practical understanding of education in order to develop approaches to bilingual education

- plan and implement bilingual units of work, accompanying materials and assessment


Additional Info:

The evaluation periods for the course are in January, June and September.

The course materials, video lectures, tasks and final assignment are all available in Moodle.
