Biography

I primarily work on the development of improved bioinformatic methods for large, global DNA metabarcoding datasets.  I am especially interested in taxonomic identification, species delimitation, and trait inference of "dark taxa", i.e. those which are known only from environmental DNA data, not from specimens or cultures.  My background is in fungal ecology, but I also work with data for other poorly known groups such as insects and protists.
