Biography
In my dissertation, I examine local education policy within a decentralized education policy system. My research focuses on the education policies of Finnish municipalities regarding the provision of basic education, as well as their implementation, directions, and forms, and their relationship to national education policy. Modeling local policies and studying issues related to the provision of basic education is particularly important in the Finnish context, where municipalities are increasingly differing and diversifying both economically and demographically.
I work as a doctoral researcher at Department of Teacher Education at the University of Jyväskylä as part of the EDUCA-Doc Doctoral Education Pilot. My research interests broadly encompass sociology and politics of education.
