Biography

I am a senior researcher at the Finnish Institute for Educational Research (FIER), University of Jyväskylä and a Docent of Learning Environments Research at the Philosophical Faculty, University of Eastern Finland (UEF).

I supervise doctoral students in the Doctoral School of the Faculty of Education and Psychology, JYU, and serve as a mentor in the mentoring pool of The Finnish Multidisciplinary Doctoral Training Network on Educational Sciences (FinEd).

Research interests

I am an educational researcher working at the intersection of learning environments and higher education research, with a particular interest in the changing geographies and futures of education. My current work examines how hybrid educational spaces and practices emerge in response to technological, social, and institutional transformations, including questions of spatial agency, the geographies of collaboration, and the scalability of hybrid learning spaces across different levels of education.

My earlier research has spanned two interrelated strands: the study of micro-level collaboration dynamics in technology-rich learning settings, and the examination of these practices within their broader institutional, spatial, and sociotechnical contexts.
