Biography

I investigate especially muscle and exercise physiology. My research increases the know-how of the importance of muscles, about regulation of muscle atrophy, hypertrophy and metabolism, exercise physiology, resistance training, sports nutrition and muscle medicine. The results of my studies can be applied to the prevention and treatment of muscle atrophy and in different exercise and nutrition applications and recommendations.

Research interests

I aim to understand metabolism and its role in exercise, muscle hypertrophy and atrophy, and weight loss. Our research covers a wide range of physiology at the body, muscle and cellular levels using a variety of in vivo and in vitro research models. We make use of the latest research methods in physiology and life sciences, such as multi-omics and labelling experiments.
