Biography
I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Multiobjective Optimization Group. My educational background is doctor of science (technology) in operations research.
Research interests
I study how to make better decisions in complex situations where goals conflict, such as costs, environmental impacts and reliability. I develop mathematical methods that help find balanced solutions and make the trade-offs between alternatives visible to decision-makers.
My research areas include multiobjective optimization, systems analysis and operations research. I apply them to energy and environmental questions, logistics, the planning of production and services, and decision support in the public sector. My work helps organizations make better-informed choices when not all objectives can be achieved at the same time.
I am happy to talk about decision support, the benefits and limits of optimization, and how complex systems can be modeled and understood. I collaborate with companies, the public sector, fellow researchers and the media, and I am available for expert comments.
