Biography

I am currently working as a researcher and interaction coordinator in Transforming Immigration Systems for Future Skills (TRIM) project funded by Strategic Research of Research Council of Finland. My key areas of expertise are: international (im)mobilities, migration and learning processess, migrant students' learning at workplaces, learning and working life trajectories of migrants in vocational education context, diversity management as well as development of further education trainings and competence frameworks. My recent experience includes serving as a responsible researcher in two Horizon 2020 projects: Enhancing Research on Integration of Formal Educational Programmes and Workplace Learning (FEWL) and Networking the Educational World: Across Boundaries of Community-Building (NEW ABC).

Research interests

My research focuses on the learning, teaching, and integration of adult migrant students in Finland, as well as the international mobility of various groups of professionals. I examine the role of (in/non)formal education and learning in integration processes, as well as adult migrant students' learning pathways and transitions into working life, particularly within the context of vocational education and training (VET).

Currently, I am conducting research on migrant students' workplace learning and their transitions both during their studies and from VET to the labour market.

Methodologically, I am particularly interested in participatory research methodologies and arts-based approaches.

My previous experience includes the development of evidence-based quality assurance in international educational settings. This work has involved, for example, the development of a competence framework for the effective management of diversity in international educational contexts, the co-creation and implementation of pedagogical innovations, and the research-based development of continuing professional education and training programmes.
