Research interests
My doctoral dissertation is situated at the intersection of teacherhood studies and educational policy discourse. It examines how comprehensive school teacherhood is constructed in the Finnish Parliament’s Question Time speeches between 2000 and 2024. The study approaches the topic through a sociocultural lens and within the framework of deliberative democracy. The analysis explores the themes that shape teacherhood, how it gains meaning in political discourse, and how societal challenges influence the expectations placed on teachers and professional roles ascribed to teachers.
