Research interests
Areas of expertise: experimental literature, poetics, contemporary Finnish novel, theories of transtextuality, (new) materialism, affects and affections, codex, madness studies.
In my PhD research I focused on the experimentalism, poetics and affects of a prominent Finnish novel, published in 2012 by Jaakko Yli-Juonikas (b. 1976). My work is mainly based on the concepts of repetition, assemblage, materiality, and détournement. My work offers a materiality-sensitive reading strategy for poetics in excessive, hard-to-grasp and expanding works of printed prose literature - with possible applications to similar texts on other platforms.
