Majid Haghparast is an Associate Professor at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. Since January 2026, he has also served as the Degree Programme Officer for the High Performance Computing (HPC) Master’s Programme. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and an the editorial board member of Cluster Computing (Springer), Journal of Computational Electronics (Springer), Optical and Quantum Electronics (Springer), and IET Quantum Communication (Wiley).
He has supervised over 10 Ph.D. candidates and more than 150 M.Sc. theses. His research focuses on Software Engineering, Quantum Programming, and Quantum Algorithms, and he has contributed to several research projects in these areas.
He is a member of the Quantum Information and Computation (QIC) research group and leads the Quantum Programming and Algorithms (QPA) research branch.
