Biography

General information

I'm a postdoctoral researcher interested in the application of computational methods in biotechnology. I’m currently working with the research group Remote Sensing and Green Technologies at JYU. I have a background in biochemistry and environmental sciences with technical experience in analytical techniques such as GC-MS and HPLC. During my master’s and PhD, I studied how environmental conditions modulate the molecular composition of microalgae.

Research description

My research involves the development of protocols to acquire high quality ground truth data and then analyze and model such data.

My current research project has two main objectives:

  1. To integrate hydrogen producing algae into wastewater treatment to enhance the value addition of biological purification of wastewaters.
  2. To optimize process monitoring of algae production systems with the use of computational methods.
