As research coordinator, my task is to identify the needs of the surrounding society to which the ICT expertise of the Kokkola University Consortium Chydenius can add value. Suitable sources of RDI funding can then be sought to support these opportunities for cooperation.
The research focuses on educational technology solutions and the modern learning environments built on them. Solutions that utilize new technology, as well as related practices and research, are essential for high-quality education. The research helps education providers offer educational solutions that take into account the individual needs of students. In practice, this means flexible education in terms of time and place, combining traditional classroom teaching with modern distance learning. The research promotes, for example, the opportunities for students who work or live far from their place of study to participate in education.
