Research interests
My research interests include ancient and medieval philosophy, Islamic philosophy and theology, Neoplatonism, metaphysics, and philosophy of religion. I am particularly interested in the thought of Avicenna and Suhrawardī, and my research focuses on Avicennian metaphysics and the Illuminationist tradition in the medieval Islamic world, especially the relationship between these two philosophical traditions, their logical, epistemological, ontological, metaphysical, and theological principles, as well as their angelology. I am also interested in medieval and early modern political philosophy and in using those ideas to establish a philosophy of peace.
