I work as a research coordinator at Kokkola University Consortium Chydenius in the unit of social sciences. .
My research interests focus on the agency of clients, citizens, and local communities both in the context of public welfare service system and as a partner that supports and challenges its operation. I have examined the questions related the topic particularly from the point of view of rural areas and rural local communities. As a frame of reference for my research has served social sustainability. I understand it as a state where various dimensions of sustainable development are combined with human activity. In the field of social work, my research topic is located in the traditions of structural social work, community work, rural social work.
