Biography

My research interests are in the broad field of landscape ecology. I study the effects of landscape heterogeneity and connectivity on biodiversity in human-dominated environments (agricultural, urban, forested). My research focuses on biodiversity conservation in relation to land use, landscape planning, and management. Over the years, my research gradually expanded towards interdisciplinary science, ecological economics, and social-ecological systems.
