Research interests

Lakes receive variable and often large inputs of terrestrial detritus from their catchments. My group studies the impact of this terrestrial loading on lake food webs and biogeochemical processes in order to improve understanding of lake ecosystems and the ability to predict responses to environmental change. To assist this research we have developed an excellent stable isotope analysis (SIA) facility in the department, and we also promote the use of SIA in tackling a variety of other ecological and environmental research issues.
