Biography
I work as a postdoctoral researcher at the Finnish Institute for Educational Research (FIER), University of Jyväskylä. I work in a project Conceptualising and promoting student agency in university studies (2023-2026), funded by the Research Council of Finland. Starting from Autumn 2026, I work in a project Tracing Knowledge: Universities and the Risk of Empty Education, funded by the Research Council of Finland. I also work at the University of Tampere, in a project UnMaking Knowledge - Students’ relationship with knowledge from Modernity to AI, funded by the Kone foundation. I completed my doctoral studies in educational sciences at the University Turku. In my doctoral research, I focused on sociocultural perspectives in higher education teaching and pedagogical development. I have previously worked in several educational research and development projects, funded, for instance, by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture, and the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. My previous research has focused especially on learning and teaching in higher education. I have also worked as a senior evaluation advisor at The Finnish Education Evaluation Centre (FINEEC), gaining expertise in the evaluation of the Finnish education system, with a particular focus on the implementation of student guidance at different school levels. I have also led educational development projects in vocational education and training. I am particularly interested in the sociology of education and research on learning, teaching, and student guidance.
