Biography
I defended my doctoral dissertation at the University of Jyväskylä School of Business and Economics in 2023. Currently, I work as a Postdoctoral Researcher, focusing on technology evolution and science, technology, and innovation policy. My expertise also extends to the natural sciences, as I hold a master's degree in chemistry from the University of Jyväskylä.
Research interests
I study how technologies evolve and why some technologies transform society while others fail to deliver on their promise, and what this means for innovation policy. I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Strategy and Entrepreneurship research group at the Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics. My areas of expertise include technology evolution, technological sovereignty, and science, technology and innovation policy.
My current research focuses on long-term technological trajectories. As an example, I study how new industries emerge from existing technological trajectories. My work on cellular agriculture explores how seemingly novel industries are rooted in technologies and innovations developed in other sectors over decades. My research has been published in journals such as Research Policy and Journal of Business Venturing Insights.
I welcome conversations with researchers, policymakers, and organisations interested in long-term technological trajectories, technological sovereignty, and the role of technologies in addressing societal challenges.
