I work as a grant-funded doctoral researcher in German Language and Culture. During the 2026–2027 academic year, I also teach SAXA1042: German Media Landscape. My expertise focuses on German society, visual political communication, and discourse studies.
In my dissertation, I study the Instagram communication of the Alternative for Germany (Alternative für Deutschland, AfD). I focus on posts published in 2025 that were produced using generative AI and feature female figures. I examine how women and womanhood are depicted in these images and what meanings these ways of depicting women are given as part of the party’s political communication. My research combines multimodal critical discourse analysis with the discourse-historical approach.
