Project description

Throughout and within E-FORCE, we will encourage different forms of mobility (virtual, physical, and blended) to ensure that the partners learn from each other when creating the teacher academy, while that teachers benefit from the expertise of all partners and gaining unique insights into different European education systems when participating the teacher academy. The Academy aims to become a leading network promoting excellence in online education across Europe. By improving teachers’ online teaching skills, the Academy supports the EU’s vision of a cohesive digital education ecosystem and addresses the diverse learning needs of students in a digitally connected world. In summary, these are the three main objectives of the European Teacher Academy for Online Teaching and Learning:

1. Advancing online teaching proficiency among educators in early childhood education and care (ECEC), as well as in primary and secondary educational levels, and increase the capacity and readiness of the educators and schools to shift towards online education.

2. Fostering a network and communities of practice between teachers and educational institutions across Europe, encouraging the exchange of online teaching practices and continuous professional development opportunities, while aiming to influence educational policies at both national and European levels.

3. Promoting accessibility and inclusivity of under-represented groups in online education, in line with the EU values, ensuring that online learning environments are adaptable and accessible to all students, regardless of their geographical, socio-economic, or gender-based differences.

These objectives will drive the Teacher Academy’s mission to integrate high-quality online education practices throughout the European educational systems, aligning with the strategic goals of the European Education Area, and supporting the implementation of the Digital Education Action Plan with strategic priorities of fostering teachers’ confidence and competences to use technology effectively and create opportunities for all learners to develop their digital competences for learning and living in an ever more digitalized world.
