Project description

At a broader level, the project investigates the global relationship between social media influencers and the journalism industry, advancing our understanding of how these two spheres intersect across different media markets. In the Finnish context, the project examines the roles that journalist-influencers play in the digital news environment and the kinds of content they produce for platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. The project also explores how young adults in Finland recognize journalistic content on social media and distinguish it from content produced by social media influencers.
