MOTIVET4UA -Promoting multimodal educational practices and teacher competencies in vocational education and training (VET): Ukraine - Finland Cooperation

The MOTIVET4UA project promotes international cooperation between Finnish and Ukrainian higher education institutions (HEIs). The project strengthens institutional capacity by improving the competencies of teacher educators in multimodal pedagogy, digital teaching, and the responsible use of AI to modernize vocational education and training (VET) and ensure that it aligns with social and economic needs.

Project description

The MOTIVET4UA project consortium consists of two Finnish HEIs and two Ukrainian HEIs. 

JYU coordinates the project.

JAMK School of Professional Teacher Education will offer opportunities for benchmarking practices on remote and digital education pedagogy including 
tools using AI in online teaching, and collaboration with the world of work when teacher training takes place remotely. V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and Hryhorii Skovoroda University in Pereiaslav will participate in developing webinars for teacher trainees, inform students and teachers about existing exchange opportunities, and participate in workshops aiming to address learning loss experienced by teachers and students due to the ongoing war.

This project focuses on  developing Ukrainian higher education, in particular vocational teacher education (VTE), by: 1.supporting the development of remote and digital education pedagogical practices, 2. enhancing collaboration with the world of work when learning takes place remotely, 3 . increasing understanding about systemic change, and 4. developing measures to address learning loss experienced by teachers and students due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, within the context of vocational teacher education.
