Comprehensive Security, Cognitive Security and Strategic Intelligence (CCSI)
Overview
Research group description
Digitalization and technological development have increasingly shifted the focus of security toward the cognitive domain, where human perception, thinking, and decision-making are influenced. Malign information influence, disinformation, and cognitive warfare have become central features of the contemporary security environment.
The Comprehensive Security, Cognitive Security and Strategic Intelligence (CCSI) is a multidisciplinary research group that examines cognitive security and intelligence as integral components of comprehensive security.
Our research focuses in particular on the following themes:
- cognitive security and resilience of individuals and societies
- strategic intelligence and decision-making under uncertainty
- the development of intelligence culture in Finland
- societal comprehensive security
- malign information influence, cognitive warfare, and disinformation
CCSI integrates research, education, and societal engagement. Its aim is to produce research-based knowledge and expertise that support decision-making, public authorities, and society’s capacity to respond to complex and evolving security challenges.
