Research group description
The TS3 Research Group, led by Dr Farid Karimi, focuses on the social science dimensions of energy, climate change, and sustainability transitions.
The group investigates questions related to public perceptions, social acceptance, and societal responses to new technologies and projects with siting controversies. Its research explores risk perceptions, why these perceptions differ, and how public engagement can be strengthened to support the green transition and empower civil society.
In the field of energy politics, the TS3 examines issues of energy security, critical infrastructure security, energy independence and national security in Europe, with a particular focus on the Baltic Sea Region (BSR).
