Five international researchers will begin their projects at the University of Jyväskylä after securing funding from Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.

The Faculty of Mathematics and Science is home to JYU's first Business Services Managers. They are the first point of contact for companies and organisations looking for a suitable way to collaborate with the University, for example in research.

In his doctoral research, M.Sc. Jaakko Litmanen used biomolecule-based modelling to study the composition of the phytoplankton community in Lake Vesijärvi, as well as the diets of water fleas and calanoid copepods over a seven-year period.

Doctoral Researcher Andrea Raggio investigated in his dissertation thesis the development of laser and decay spectroscopy experiments and improving the production of radioactive ion beams of actinides. The doctoral dissertation will be held on 28.3.2025.

The Oikos-Finland 2025 conference will be held at the University of Jyväskylä on 11-14 March 2025. The conference will bring together current basic and applied research in ecology and evolutionary biology.
