The results of QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024 have been released. Of the JYU fields, education improved its position and was ranked 76 (78 in 2023).

University of Jyväskylä receives ERC Advanced Grant for €2.5m euros for research on the interaction of nanoparticles and biomolecules

The European Research Council has granted a significant ERC Advanced Grant to Professor Hannu Häkkinen at the University of Jyväskylä. The five-year funding is for 2.5 million euros.

Inherited predisposition for higher muscle strength may protect against common morbidities

A study conducted at the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Jyväskylä showed that a genetic predisposition for higher muscle strength predicts a longer lifespan and a lower risk for developing common diseases.
