Software Lab

At the Software Lab, research focuses on the challenges of software engineering research. The research focuses on building practical applications, and our goal is to respond to problems with industrial significance or applicability in industry. The research is conducted in close collaboration with companies to ensure genuinely useful and applicable results.

Industrial applicability at the centre of software engineering research

We are a multidisciplinary research laboratory that addresses various software designing problems arising in industry. Our focus is particularly on problems with industrial applicability.

The themes of our research include AI-based software development and improving the efficiency and quality of software development processes, container-based software architectures, quantum technology, and 6G software development.

In the constantly changing software industry, which is currently in the centre of an AI-revolution, it is important that research is conducted in a business-oriented manner, based on the needs of industry and by supporting practical development work in the business world.

Collaboration with companies and academic operators

We collaborate actively with both academic operators and companies. Our collaborative projects relate to, for example, research collaboration, RDI projects, and research subcontracting.

In addition, student collaboration provides opportunities such as thesis collaboration, testing ideas, and various development projects.
