Bachelor's applicants: Instructions for conditionally admitted applicants

If you have been admitted in admission group 1, your admission is based on the grades that you have received from one of these qualifications:

• Finnish matriculation examination
• International Baccalaureate (IB) completed in or outside Finland
• European Baccalaureate (EB) completed in or outside Finland
• Deutsche Internationale Abiturprüfung (DIA) or Reifeprüfung (RP) completed in Finland.

Applicants completing an IB or EB Diploma in spring 2026

Your admission is conditional because: 

• we are unable to verify your graduation from national databases, and
• the admission result is based on your predicted grades. 

If you are completing an IB Diploma in spring 2026, official final grades must be delivered to the University of Jyväskylä by 9 July 2026 at 3:00 p.m. (UTC+3). To deliver us the final grades, you must order a Transcript of Grades from the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) and ask them to send it electronically to the Admission Services of the University of Jyväskylä.

If you are completing an EB Diploma in spring 2026, you need to deliver officially certified copies* of your final educational documents to the Admission Services of the University of Jyväskylä by 9 July 2026 at 3:00 p.m. (UTC+3).

If you are admitted to the Business Innovation and Sustainability programme based on the scores calculated from your IB or EB predicted grades, the selection is conditional until the Admission Services of the University of Jyväskylä receives your official final grades. If the scores calculated based on the final grades are lower than the scores calculated based on the predicted grades, your admission may be cancelled. Please also note that your admission will be cancelled, if we do not receive your official final grades by the given deadline.

If you are not admitted to the Business Innovation and Sustainability programme based on the scores calculated from your predicted grades, and the scores calculated based on your final grades are higher, please notify the Admission Services without delay at admissions@jyu.fi and have your final grades delivered to the University of Jyväskylä immediately. The grades must become available to us by 9 July 2026 3:00 p.m. (UTC+3) so that they can be considered in the admission process. 

Applicants completing a DIA Diploma in Finland in spring 2026

Your admission is conditional because we are unable to verify your graduation and final grades from national databases. 

You need to send officially certified copies* of your final DIA diploma, final grades and equivalency certificate to the Admission Services of the University of Jyväskylä by 9 July 2026 at 3:00 p.m. (UTC+3). 

Applicants who have completed their qualification before 2026

If you have completed a Finnish matriculation examination, an EB Diploma or an RP/DIA Diploma before 2026 and you have been conditionally admitted, you need to deliver an officially certified copy* of your final diploma with final grades to the Admission Services of the University of Jyväskylä by 9 July 2026 at 3:00 p.m. (UTC+3). Applicants who have applied based on an RP/DIA Diploma must also send a certified copy of the equivalency certificate by the given deadline (9 July 2026 at 3:00 p.m. (UTC+3). 

If you have completed an IB Diploma before 2026 and you have been conditionally admitted,you must order a Transcript of Grades from the IBO and ask them to send it electronically to the Admission Services of the University of Jyväskylä by 9 July 2026 at 3:00 p.m. (UTC+3). If it is not possible to share your Transcript of Grades electronically, you can also deliver an officially certified copy* of your final diploma to the Admission Services of the University of Jyväskylä.

If you have been admitted in admission group 2, your admission is based on an SAT or ACT test result. Your admission is conditional because you have applied with an unfinished qualification and we need to verify that you have graduated from your previous qualification which gives you eligibility to bachelor-level studies.

Send a scanned copy of your final diploma to the Admission Services of the University of Jyväskylä by email (idp-attachments@jyu.fi) by 9 July 2026 at 3:00 p.m. (UTC+3). 

We recommend using our secure email service when delivering the document(s). 

If you have applied based on an unfinished Finnish matriculation examination diploma, Finnish vocational upper secondary qualification (in Finnish: ammatillinen perustutkinto) or Finnish further vocational qualification or specialist vocational qualification (in Finnish: ammatti- tai erikoisammattitutkinto), you do not need to send us a copy of your final diploma because we are able to verify your graduation from national databases. 

If you have been admitted in admission group 3, your admission is based on an SAT or ACT test result. Your admission is conditional because you have applied with an unfinished qualification and we need to verify that you have graduated from your previous qualification which gives you eligibility to bachelor-level studies.

Send a scanned copy of your final upper secondary education diploma or higher education degree certificate to the Admission Services of the University of Jyväskylä by email (idp-attachments@jyu.fi) by 11 August 2026 at 3:00 p.m. (UTC+3). An official translation to Finnish, Swedish or English is required if the original document is not issued in one of these languages.

In case the actual final diploma or degree certificate cannot be issued to you in time, a provisional certificate will suffice. Please note that the provisional certificate must be issued by the institution that awards the qualification, and the certificate must state that the qualification is fully completed.

Your admission to the Immersive Software Engineering and AI programme is conditional because, in the application phase, you had not yet completed your upper secondary or higher education qualification.

After you have graduated, make sure to deliver scanned copies of your final educational document(s) to us by email (idp-attachments@jyu.fi) without delay, but by the given deadline. Please see further details on which documents to deliver below.

Applicants completing an upper secondary education qualification outside Finland in spring/summer 2026:

Deadline for delivering a copy of your final upper secondary education diploma (and possible translations): 11 August 2026 3:00 p.m. (UTC+3).

In case the actual final diploma certificate cannot be issued to you in time, a provisional certificate will suffice. Please note that the provisional certificate must be issued by the institution that awards the qualification, and the certificate must state that the qualification is fully completed. An official translation to Finnish, Swedish or English is required if the original document is not issued in one of these languages.

Applicants completing an International Baccalaureate (IB), or European Baccalaureate (EB) diploma in or outside Finland in spring 2026

Deadline to submit proof of graduation: 9 July 2026 3:00 p.m. (UTC+3).

IB applicants: deliver a copy of your final transcript of grades which states that the diploma has been awarded. 

EB applicants: deliver a scanned copy of your final diploma which states that the diploma has been awarded. 

Applicants completing a Deutches Internationales Abitur (DIA) Diploma in Finland in spring 2026

Deadline for submitting final diploma on to your online application form on Studyinfo.fi: 29 April 2026 3:00 p.m. (UTC+3).

Attach to your online application form by the deadline given above:

• A scanned copy of your final DIA diploma
• A scanned copy of the grade page of your final DIA diploma
• An equivalency certificate on upper secondary education based on DIA provisions (in Finnish: Vastaavuustodistus lukio-opinnoista, jotka perustuvat DIA-tutkinnon säännöksiin).

Applicants completing a Finnish matriculation examination in spring 2026

Deadline for graduation and final grades to be visible on the national database: 12 May 2026.

Applicants completing a vocational upper secondary education qualification in Finland:

Deadline for your degree to be visible on the national database: 11 August 2026.

Applicants completing a higher education degree IN Finland:

Deadline for delivering a copy of your final degree certificate: 11 August 2026 3:00 p.m. (UTC+3).

Applicants completing a higher education degree outside Finland:

Deadline for delivering a copy of your final degree certificate and transcript of records (and possible translations): 11 August 2026 3:00 p.m. (UTC+3).

If the final degree certificate cannot be issued to you in time, a provisional certificate provided by the awarding institution will suffice. The certificate must state the following: Date of graduation, graduation title, and explicitly state that the degree has been granted, awarded or conferred to you.
