FAQ: after applying for the bachelor's programme

The attachment submission has closed on Wed 29 January 2025 at 3.00 p.m. (EET, Helsinki time).

 Unfortunately, we cannot make any extensions to our deadlines, even if the delay was caused by a third party, such as the language test organiser, the applicant’s former university, or by the applicant's illness or any other unexpected event as we want to ensure equal treatment of all the applicants. Your application will be evaluated based on the information provided by 29 January. 

If any required documents were not submitted to your application in time to meet the given deadline, your application will be deemed ineligible and will not be processed further. If this applies to your situation, JYU warmly welcomes you to apply again in January 2026!

Applicants will be notified whether they will continue in the application process before the final results are published. The final results will be sent via email by 3 April 2025.

How to apply

All JYU students are required to pay a healthcare fee which enables you to access the student healthcare!

If you are accepted to study at JYU, you can apply for student housing.

In Jyväskylä, there are two student housing providers: Soihtu and KOAS.

JYU makes learning Finnish easy! All students are required to take at least 1 Finnish course during their studies here at JYU. You can take courses throughout your studies and there is no limit. 

The courses are included with your tuition. As a student it is free to take any language courses offered by JYU. The city of Jyväskylä also offers language courses but these courses have a fee.
