An international and multidisciplinary community
Our multidisciplinary working community consists of six faculties as well as separate institutions and university services, each of which has international staff. In recent years, more than 13% (in 2024, nearly 15%) of the university's employees have been international. The Faculty of Mathematics and Science has the highest proportion of international employees (30%). In addition to employees, the University of Jyväskylä has a significant number of international grant researchers, doctoral students, visitors, and trainees.
The University of Jyväskylä also strongly supports the international networking and mobility of our researchers at different stages of their careers by offering various opportunities for collaboration and mobility and encouraging them to take advantage of these opportunities during their careers.
The University of Jyväskylä is involved in the following international networks which offer opportunities for international cooperation and networking: Forthem, Erasmus, Euraxess. In addition, the faculties have their own networks.
