Flora's Day
Flora's Day, or Flower Day, has traditionally been celebrated at the University of Jyväskylä with choir singing. The vocal ensemble Äänes arrives at the library to perform a selection of spring songs. Äänes is an a cappella ensemble formed by seven men from Jyväskylä, which is famous for its many choirs such as the Jyväskylä Opera Choir and the Male Choir Sirkat. Äänes, founded in 2018, will offer springtime favourites from their diverse repertoire.

16:30-17:30/ Library Lähde, Cafe Tiede
- Welcome and introduction to the campus summer. Service Manager Pirita Frigren, cultural and natural heritage services.
- Publication of the new Campus Guide. Emerita Pirjo Vuorinen talks about the history of campus guides at the University.
- Music: The vocal ensemble Äänes performs spring songs.
17:30-19
- Flora's Day guided campus tour in English on 13 May 2025. Pre-registration is required, please use the link below. Registration ends on 13 May 2025 at 5:00 pm. There is a limited number of places for the tour, so sign up well in advance. The tour starts in front of the University Library Lähde (Building B). Please register via the link https://link.webropol.com/ep/guidedtour Note: the walking tour is not completely accessible.

- Possibility to visit the Soihtu Exhibition Centre and participate in open workshops (Soihtu, Building S)

- Possibility to visit the temporary exhibition Luonto ystävänä (Nature as a Friend) in Tietoniekka, Lähde.
