The first FIRE Education and training -workshop will be held at the University of Jyväskylä on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 12:00-15:45 (Agora-building, room Alfa). The workshop is organized by the Finnish Infrastructure for Register-Based Research (FIRE) Education and training -task force.

Preliminary programme for the workshop (a more detailed programme will be announced after the registration deadline):

  • Briefly about the FIRE project
  • Survey results on educational needs for register-based research
  • The practical use of the register data (e.g., general tips on editing/processing data, using statistical software [Stata, R], and using resources efficiently)
  • Sharing user experiences (and tips) of workshop participants
  • Networking and discussion

About the workshop:

  • The workshop is an in-person event organized at the University of Jyväskylä.
  • Depending on the participants, the workshop will be held in either Finnish or English (presentation materials are prepared in English).
  • There is no participation fee for the workshop.
