One of the tasks that JYU is in charge of in this alliance collaboration, is to collect a toolkit of good practices in student and staff well-being. The group consisting of experts of all 9 partner universities has identified over 160 different good practices under six topics. During the staff week workshops, the selection process of these to the common toolkit was developed further. Different questions were also identified concerning the sharing of good practices, for example about how to make them compatible with the different practicalities in different universities.

Enhancingfutureskillsdevelopmentthroughinnovativepedagogyis the name of the JYU-lead FORTHEM work package which has seven tasks that focus on the most crucial future skills like digital skills, multimodal and multilingual pedagogies, green skills, diversity and inclusion and entrepreneurship. The innovative pedagogies mid-term meeting brought together enthusiastic experts from nine FORTHEM universities. After four days toghether, the group was full of new ideas to take home with. Many participants not only praised the beautiful and autumnal Jyväskylä, also emphasized the importance of meeting face-to-face, which enables even more fruitful university collaboration.

During the staff week, some social programme was also organised. During the get-togehter evening on Monday, the “Finland Quiz” was a success as an ice-breaker. On Tuesday, the participants had the possibility to choose either a midfulness session or a sauna experience before a nice buffet dinner in Viilu restaurant in the Jyväskylä Harbor.

Some comments from the participants:

“The sessions have been quite interesting and enriching. The ones I liked the most where about Staff Sports Game (LU), Being integrated at work after Leave of absence (JGU), Dont' be a red Flag and Speak Up (UiA). all the above mentioned mentioned practice are innovative.”

“I really enjoyed the mix of theory (presentations by experts on the topics of innovative pedagogy and future skills) and practice (gallery walks and workshops). I found that it facilitated and encouraged exchanges between all the participants. It was a good idea also to have two [different teams] working in parallel over the same staff week.”

“The local team was very welcoming and kind to the participants. The activity at the sauna was fantastic, and the food was excellent! I really appreciated the opportunity to meet European colleagues.”
