Application period
The application period of autumn 2026 opens on 1 September 2026 and the deadline for applications is 30 September 2026. Successful applicants will begin their doctoral studies in January 2027. The next application period will take place in April 2027. If you study full-time, the target completion time for a doctoral degree is three to four years.
Doctoral programmes
The University of Jyväskylä offers six doctoral programmes. Depending on the programme and specialisation option, you can pursue a doctoral degree in philosophy, education, economics and business administration, sports sciences, psychology, technology, health sciences or social sciences.
