Proprioception is defined as the perception of joint and body movement and position in space. Among other things, it affects balance, the fluidity of movement, and the risk of injury.

The study includes one, about 2 h measurement visit to the Sports and Health Laboratory of the University of Jyväskylä (Rautpohjankatu 8). The visit includes measurement of maximal voluntary contraction of the calf muscles, four different proprioceptive tests, 10-15 minutes fatiguing exercise and measurement of the body composition (InBody).

We are looking for healthy men and women aged 18–50 years to participate the study. All tests are free of charge.

•    you have no medical condition to avoid physical exercise

•    you have not been diagnosed with any neurological disorders
