The student email service will change from Gmail to Outlook gradually during the year 2023. The process has started and it's possible that your email has already changed to Outlook. Read more.
The address for logging in to email has changed
If your email has already changed to Outlook, the address for logging in is also different. Try logging in at http://outlook.jyu.fi. Log in to the service with your user ID (username@jyu.fi) and old password.
You haven't activated your M365 services
You need to activate M365 services if you have not yet used the Microsoft services offered by university (e.g. Word, Outlook, Teams). Read the instructions for the activation.
You haven't deployed multi-factor authentication
Microsoft multi-factor authentication (MFA) became obligatory for student in the spring 2023. If you haven't deployed MFA yet, you won't be able to sign in to your Microsoft mailbox. Follow the instructions to deploy MFA.
