Each student pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree must formally register for attendance or non-attendance each academic year. Registration for the academic year 2026-2027 is to be completed in the OILI registration service by 31 July 2026.

How to register

Registration for the academic year 2026-2027 is to be completed in the OILI registration service by 31 July 2026. The student must register for attendance or non-attendance to each degree study right they have.

Registration for attendance: You are required to pay the student union membership fee.
Registration for non-attendance: You do not pay the student union membership fee. You can change the registration from non-attendance to attendance at any point during the academic year by paying the membership fee.

NB! In order to register on OILI, your Finnish personal identity code must be in the JYU student register. You can check whether your identity code is already registered by going on the Personal information tab under My profile on Sisu. If the Personal identity code field is empty, please send your Finnish personal identity code to the Student Service Desk by filling in the Update Your Personal Information form on HelpJYU. After your personal identity code is saved in the student register, you should wait 1-2 days before you can complete the registration on OILI.

If you are unable to register on OILI, please complete the registration by filling in the Annual registration and Student Union membership fee form on HelpJYU by 31 July 2026.

If you are required to pay the tuition fee and are granted a JYU Scholarship, you can register for attendance for your second academic year only after your scholarship status for the next academic year has been confirmed and the tuition fee has been paid. The deadline is 15 July 2026. Detailed instructions for tuition fee-paying students and scholarship recipients have been sent separately by the International Office in April.

Tuition fees are not charged, and tuition fee scholarships are not paid for terms during which the student is registered for non-attendance.

If you will graduate by 31 July 2026 and you do not have other degree study rights, you cannot register for the next academic year. If you are liable to pay tuition fees, please see more information about graduation.
