The Student Compass with individual coach support: Strengthening your mental wellbeing during your Master’s studies

Life as an international Master’s student can be rewarding but also demanding. Deadlines, pressure, stress, or low mood can affect your energy and focus at any stage of your studies. You don’t need to face it alone.

The Student Compass (OK) is a free online program developed at the University of Jyväskylä and scientifically proven to promote mental wellbeing and study ability. Together with a wellbeing coach, you’ll explore what matters to you, set goals, and try out tools that support both your wellbeing and your studies. 

When is it helpful?

You can turn to the Student Compass with coach support if, for example, 

  • stress or anxiety feel overwhelming, 
  • motivation or concentration is low, 
  • balancing studies and personal life feels difficult, or 
  • you want to strengthen your overall mental wellbeing. 

What’s included?

  • 3 one-on-one meetings with a wellbeing coach (in person or online) 
  • An individual assessment of your wellbeing 
  • Independent practice with personalized feedback through the Student Compass online platform.

Who can join? 

The program is free for international Master’s students at JYU.
