The University of Jyväskylä maintained its position in the prestigious Shanghai University Ranking 2025
The University of Jyväskylä was again included in the Shanghai Ranking (Academic Ranking of World Universities, ARWU) and this year the ranking was 701–800. The position was the same as in the previous year. Of the universities in Finland, JYU was seventh.

This year, the ranking included more than 2,500 institutions from around the world, and the published list includes the best 1,000 universities.
The Shanghai Ranking mostly focuses on research. The comparison is based on, for example, Nobel prize-winning alumni, highly cited researchers and articles published in renowned scientific journals. Seven Finnish universities were included in the list.
According to the ranking, the most valued university is again Harvard and it is followed by Stanford and MIT. The global top 20 included 15 universities from the USA.
