Vaara Coaching NYT in Uskalla Yrittää -semifinals!
Today at Forum in Jyväskylä as both the upper secondary and higher education schools had Uskalla Yrittää -semifinals were organized by Junior Achievement Finland (Nuorten Yrittäjyys ja Talous NYT). The Jyväskylä Uskalla Yrittää sales event and entrepreneurship competition included young people from the Central Finland region who are taking part in the Vuosi yrittäjänä (JA Company Program) -course. Uskalla Yrittää is Finland’s largest entrepreneurship event and competition for young people. The regional events are held across Finland in February–March, and the final takes place in Helsinki in April.
Vaara NYT was representing the University of Jyväskylä in the competition. The founders of Vaara NYT, Jaakko Anttoora and Henry Talja, study in the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences and are completing the JA Company Program as an independent project during this academic year. Vaara NYT develops resilience training for teams in companies and organizations, and this year they have built and piloted their service, also offering purely adventurous and experiential trial activities. The founders felt that the semifinals were a valuable hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, and they gained useful ideas for the further development of their company.
JA Company Program is a learning program that combines theory and practice, with the aim of teaching and strengthening entrepreneurial skills and mindset. During the program, students establish an NYT company - either alone or in a group - that operates with real money based on their own interests and skills. Students can also participate in national competitions and events if they wish. A Company Program can be completed according to one’s own schedule and is available in Sisu. The course can be completed in both Finnish and English.
